Job Description
Position Summary:

address the challenges confronting Americans who are struggling to leave poverty

Seedco is a leader in implementing innovative, multi-partner initiatives that
foster financial advancement and security.
Seedco is recruiting a Financial Education Coordinator (“Coordinator”) to join Seedco’s Asset Building Division. This is a new position in Seedco’s Baltimore office. The Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to build a professional network among existing organizations providing financial literacy services. The purpose of this network is to centralize information about financial literacy programs to encourage uniform service delivery, and provide technical assistance to organizations developing financial literacy programs. The Coordinator will work closely with EarnBenefits Partners, the local steering committee, and the Baltimore City CASH Campaign Coalition to promote financial literacy programs.
Responsibilities Include:
• Coordinate existing financial education activities with providers in
Baltimore and state wide where appropriate;
• Develop partnerships with local non-profits, government agencies, employers,
and financial intuitions around financial services;
• Provide financial education workshops and one-on-one financial coaching
to clients.
• Work with EarnBenefits Partners to connect their clients to financial
education services.
• Create and implement an outreach and marketing plan for financial education
programming;
• Provide customized technical assistance and training for organizations
providing financial education workshops, classes, and courses;
• Provide train-the-trainer sessions for local non-profits and business
to increase their capacity to provide basic financial information to their constituents;
• Coordinate professional development opportunities for organizations
providing financial education services;
• Generate monthly reports to supervisor and funder reports as needed;
• Research funding opportunities and create appropriate proposals;
• Research best practices and connect to broader asset building field
through listservs, discussion groups, and conferences;
• Serve as a representative of Seedco on appropriate coalitions and committees;
• Provide supervision for student interns or Vista Members as needed;
• Other activities as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years related work experience;
• Undergraduate degree in business, social work, education, or related
field.
• Familiarity with financial education curricula a plus (FDIC Money Smart,
NEFE, Wells Fargo Hands on Banking, and NCRC);
• Experienced in providing training or teaching;
• Demonstrated skills in educating adults, facilitating groups, organizing
presentations;
• Experience working with diverse coalitions or networks;
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
• Ability to work flexible schedule, evenings or weekends.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range is from mid 30’s- low 40’s commensurate with experience.
