JOTF, Baltimore CASH Campaign to Host Forum on Helping Working Familes Claim EITC (12/14/2005)
The Baltimore CASH Campaign and JOTF present a lunchtime forum: Making Tax Time Pay: How The Earned Income Tax Credit Benefits Working Families on Wednesday, December 14, from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Training Room at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, 503 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
Speakers include Joanna Ramani and Pam Chaney, Baltimore CASH Campaign.
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) was created in 1975 to encourage employment among low-income workers, reduce their tax-burden, and supplement their wages. Yet many working families are not aware of this benefit, or remain unsure about how to claim it. Through education and outreach about the EITC, workforce development agencies and other community-based organizations can help boost family incomes, promote mainstream employment, and stimulate local economies.
If you or your organization works with low-income families, join the Baltimore CASH Campaign and JOTF to learn what you can do to connect your clients to the EITC and other vital tax resources.
There is no charge for this event. Program includes catered lunch. Space is limited to the first 60 respondents. RSVP to Joanna Ramani at (410) 539-6800 or joanna@mvlslaw.org
